Like so many of you, I’ve felt helpless over the years as I have had friends and relative diagnosed with cancer, or other challenging illnesses. This past fall, two women I’ve known for over 30 years were diagnosed with cancer within weeks of each other. My search for some way that I could possibly contribute to their care led me to making this recording.

more physical and emotional comfort during an illness.

I envision this recording being used during chemo or radiation treatments, or any other medical procedures that can become physically and mentally challenging. I can also see a use for after the treatments, when you may be experiencing challenging side effects, or having trouble sleeping.

I would encourage people to use it when they are feeling alone, or afraid, or need that quiet reminder of all the people who love and support them.

The recording starts with a relaxation portion, and follows with guided imagery allowing the person using it to step aside from their sick body and enjoy the thoughts of friends and family, comfort and healing.

Not everyone who uses this recording will “heal” in the traditional sense. In that case, it will allow them some peace and reflection as they prepare to transition from this life.

You can burn it onto a CD, put it on your MP3 player, or even listen to it right off the computer. Please feel free to share with anyone who might be able to benefit from the CD. I encourage you to copy it, and give it freely.

Cancer, or any illness, does not define who we are. If this CD can bring even 5 minutes of relaxation and comfort to one person, I will consider it a success.
